Duck, Duck, Duck, Goose?

Well everyone, I have been looking and have not been able to find out exactly what kind of ducks these are. At least I think they are ducks, in my research I landed on a goose (I don't remember which one at the moment) that it might possibly be. So if someone knows and would tell me I would appreciate it. I have never seen birds like these up close before. I usually see the normal mallards and canadian geese in this spot, oh and of course I can't forget the seagulls. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

They look more duck than goose to me. Unless there is a short of short necked goose.

Great shots though.

They look duck-like to me, but I don't really know for sure what they are! Nevertheless they are simply beautiful! Great shots!

Christy: I see a lot of Mallards and Canadian Geese but there are always other birds and bugs to capture.

Well. I'm clueless. At first I thouhgt duck, but it sort of looks gooselike to me. Do geese swim all the time? There is a mallard-type duck next to them, right? Better head to someplace more knowledgeable!

I think there are 2 white ducks and a black one... reverse oreo anyone?

Hi Christy,
Your white ducks appear to be of the domestic pekin breed. The other duck most likely is a mallard crossbreed.

You have me stumped on that one, but they are excellent photos!

Beautiful shots! I checked my Birds of Michigan field guide and the closest I could guess is that it's a snow goose w/ its juvenile. But I'm not 100% sure...!

Great shots, but I can't help you here - sorry. I got no idea.

Happy Sunday anyway.

I agree with Salty... I think the white ducks are pekin ducks. Your photos are wonderful!

Beautiful ducks. Love the look of the pic, it's so clear...like you can just reach out and touch one of the ducks.
