I truly think that there is more beauty in imperfection than perfection, for it is the imperfect things that truly make us beautiful. --me

Flowers - finishing up

Here are some of the flower images that were overlooked over the last few months of posting. I really am pushing this warm thoughts thing. So far, it is not working. Some of these images have similar ones posted already but these are other pictures that I like just as well.

Old But Always Beautiful

There is something about old farming equipment. I love the look of it whether it is rusted or care has been taken to keep it from rusting. I have always claimed I was born in the wrong century, decade, era what have you. I love the Victorian age, I love the clothing of the rich of the Renaissance, I love the ideals of the pioneers starting their lives anew traveling into the unknown of the States, and I am definitely a fanatic of all things World War II. But then I stop and realize, how oh how could I ever survive without air conditioning. I love having the benefits of this modern convenience. I know that I could live without my computer (I do enjoy having it though). I will admit I am a modern girl. I enjoy jumping into the car and zipping across town or across the state. I did this yesterday. I went to drop my mom off at my aunt's house so they can go down to Alabama. I really wish. I could be going down there. I had a nice afternoon in Saint Joseph. I actually made it over to my cousin's house on the river. I did not make it down to the river though. I had a slight headache, just enough to make me feel off balance and I didn't think that I should try and go down the mountain umm I mean hillside even though there are steps carved out. I plan to go down next month when I head over to the other side of the state. I got some nice pictures of the flowers in my cousin's garden and will be sharing these over the next couple of days.

Lovely Lilac

Now here is a flower that I definitely know. I have a fondness for the lilac. Growing up there were lilac bushes in the back yard right outside the kitchen window. We actually didn't have much of a backyard because a crick (drainage ditch) ran right through it. As a batter of fact there was only enough room to run the lawn mower up and back between the garage and the crick. Anyway I remember playing in and around these bushes. My childhood consisted of making "homes" out of the bushes and trees that were in our yard and the neighbor's yard, well mostly the neighbor's yard since we really only had the lilac bushes in our yard unless you went on the other side of the crick (we did have a small bridge going across). I now have a small lilac bush in my yard. I wish I could say it was an offspring of the ones that I grew up with but it is not. Enjoy the picture.

Majestic in Purple

Here is another beautiful flower. Again I do not know the name, I would take time to look it up but I don't have much free time these days. I am lucky to have what time I do to work on my images and keep my blogs up to date. I hope you enjoy.

Contrast

A little bit of contrast. These two flowers are growing side by side, well actually the little purple flower is coming up in the middle of the yellow flower. Forgive for not knowing exactly what kind of flowers these are but that is not necessary to enjoy the subtle contrast in color created by these two plants.

A Matching Set

It is truly amazing to me how perfect a simple flower can look. The beautiful matching blossoms so many of our wonderful flowers that bloom come in multiples. Showing to the world that they don't have to stand alone. It is actually more out of the norm to see a lone flower, they may have individual stems but they do usually tend to have a few in a group together. A simple reminder that we should keep our friends gathered around us.

Standing Tall

This little tulip was the only one in the flower bed. It was standing there all by itself among other plants but not another tulip to be found. I was instantly drawn into the flower. It stood out against the bark with the petals of deep purple that look like a velvety-satin. A beautiful masterpiece to be found out in nature left by our God and creator to be enjoyed.

Drayton Plains Covered Bridge (Waterford, MI)

Okay so I discovered a covered bridge. I have not seen this little bridge documented anywhere in my research thus far. I almost didn't take a pic of it and I thought wait a minute if I am going to be true to my mission and photograph the covered bridges of Michigan, then I really need to include this little bridge. Just a simple little thing leading back to the ponds of the Drayton Plains Nature Center. We had a pleasant day down in Waterford. We walked the perimeter of the ponds, almost two miles.
