Being cooped up at home with sick kiddos has me really longing for warmer weather.
This is a creative outlet for me. I enjoy photography and enjoy showing it to others. Feel free to leave a comment, I do appreciate feedback.
I truly think that there is more beauty in imperfection than perfection, for it is the imperfect things that truly make us beautiful. --me

I am super excited. My image is going to be published in the Great Lakes Bay Region Official Travel Guide. I can't wait to see my image in print.

High Flying Flag
The boys loved it, as did my hubby and I. We walked around and then had a picnic lunch; it was such a nice relaxed day, despite the heat.
The above image is actually a composite of two images I shot that day.

Frankenmuth Hot Air Balloon Festival - Friday
Memorial Weekend we went up to Frankenmuth to see the Hot Air Balloon Races and to see the Glows. I am so glad we went Friday. We were able to catch one race (the only race out of seven that was able to be completed.) This was also the only night that they had a full glow in the evening.
This is one of the fiesta flyers after take off.

One of the competitive flyers as it floated directly overhead.

The Friday evening balloon glow.

Such a fun day and we went back Saturday and Sunday. These days were not as exciting but still a lot of fun. Looking forward to next year's festival.

A couple of weeks ago, I attended the Zehnder's Snowfest in Frankenmuth, MI. It was so fun walking around looking at all of the competitive sculptures. The only problem was that it was super overcast that day. So, I convinced my husband to go back a few days later, the day after a "blizzard" hit the area to be precise, when the sun was shining and just gorgeous outside.

What's in a Name?

This image is from November 2005. I thought it quite fitting for the title. Surprisingly I don't have many rose images. I was surprised that this little rose was still out this late in the season.
I found this meme game on the Potted Frog site and thought it would be fun. What if I needed a different name? What if I needed to go into the witness protection program? What if I wake up tomorrow with superhero powers? How would I come up with a name then? Well, here's the answer:
1. Rock Star Name: Chloe Montana (first pet & current car)
2. Gangsta Name: Mint Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter (fave ice cream flavor & favorite cookie)
3. “Fly” Girl/Guy Name: C-Woo (First initial of first name, first three letters of your last name)
4. Detective Name: Blue Butterfly (Favorite color, favorite animal)
5. Soap Opera Name: Rae Flint (Middle name, city where you were born) I sound like a guy.
6. Star Wars Name: Chrwo Bafli (This is a longer one- 1st 3 letters of your 1st name+1st 2 letters of your last name then 1st two letters of mother’s maiden name + 1st 3 letters of town you were born in.)
7. Superhero Name: The Purple Green Apple White Tea Snapple (“The”+ 2nd favorite color, favorite drink.)
8. Nascar Name: Walter Willard ( The first names of your grandfathers.)
9. Stripper Name: Vanilla Lace Chocolate (favorite perfume/cologne/scent, favorite candy)
10.Witness Protection Name: Paulette Edward (parents’ middle names)
11. TV Weather Anchor Name: Anthony Austin (your 5th grade teacher’s last name, a major city that starts with the same letter)
12. Spy Name: Winter Lily (Your favorite holiday/season, flower)
13. Cartoon Name: Pear Capriey (Favorite Fruit, article of clothing you are wearing right now+ “ie” or “y”)
14. Hippy Name: Apples and Cinnamon Oatmeal Dogwood (What you ate for breakfast, your favorite tree)

Zehnder's Holz Brucke Covered Bridge

This is the covered bridge in Frankenmuth. There are some wonderful spots for pics up there. I know when I started this project everyone would ask if I had gone to shoot this bridge. I think this is one of the most well known covered bridges in Michigan. Now I just need to finish locating and shooting the other covered bridges in Michigan so that I can say that I have completed this quest. Although it might take a little more than that because I want to be able to reshoot some of the bridges in different seasons. We'll see how things go this summer. Wish me luck in trying to finish this project.
