Nature's Majesty

This image is a one of a kind for me. I am a just as I found it in nature type photographer. I am not saying that I don't do any touch up to my photos but what I do is very minimal, most of my editing is just to bring out the color. So for me to merge two photos into one is an oddity. However this is ultimately my favorite photo. It combines two of my favorite things, sunsets and butterflies. This image is hanging at my church. I donated the 11x14 print that I made of the image. I enjoy looking at it at least twice a week sometimes three. I was excited to have the Swallowtail and the Monarch land on the same branch. I had been stalking the Monarch and snapped a few images of him, and being the obsessive person I can be I kept stalking and low and behold the Swallowtail came into the pic as well. I hope everyone enjoys this image as much as I do.

Just found your blog through Nature in the Ozarks.

TERRIFIC work, but this one amazes me mostly because of the Swallowtail. I first saw one nearly 6 years ago when I moved to the desert. I have NEVER seen one land. On anything. I can't get a picture of one to save my life. You're my hero!

This is absolutely gorgeous and inspirational! I would love to learn how to do this! I am like you and prefer the 'just as I found it' photos, but this is beautiful beyond words and I would love to try this with some of my photos.

I saw my first swallowtail yesterday in my garden and managed to get some photos. They are so gorgeous!! I like the way you have merged the two pictures.
