Wedding Images

Update

Just wanted to check in and let my fellow followers and others know that I am still here. Have been working on editting and playing with the photos from my brothers wedding. Here are a couple that I have played with that I really like. I am about half way through the editting process and should be done by the end of this week. I have been on two or three nature center walks that I am eager to share with you all but am not allowing myself to play with those images until I am finished with the wedding images.

My New Camera

For those who have asked:

My new camera is the Olympus E-520.

This image is from flickr, it is not my own.

I am in love with it. It has everything that I loved about my film cameras only it is digital. I like that it is lighter weight than a lot of the Nikons and Cannons that I researched. I gave it to my cousin who has the Nikon D60 to take the family pics at the wedding and she commented on how much lighter the camera was compared to hers.

I am itching for some free time to really go out and use the camera in nature. I can't wait to go on my first walk with it. But I have to finish the wedding pictures first, then I can get back to my normal picture taking.

I am in the process of weeding through 600+ photos that I took for my brother's wedding. I hope to have some highlights to show you all soon.

Sorry I didn't post this sooner. I was at my mom's longer than expected working on flowers for my brother's wedding this weekend. But "better late than never"...is a good motto, right?

Update

I realize I have been neglectful of posting. I hope to be back at it real soon. Life is hectic. So much is going on and I am missing my downtime working on my blog. Yes I know it might be crazy but this is how I relax - blogging. It gives me the opportunity to work on my photography and share with others. I shall be back shortly once things calm down from getting things ready for my brothers wedding next week. I am in charge of flowers and photography. I will probably be sharing some of those images with you as well so you have some things to look forward to. Also on a bonus note, I got my new camera with my tax return. I look forward to playing with my new toy - first adventure is the wedding then on from there.

More Gobblers

Gobble, Gobble

A few images of the turkeys out at the Chippewa Nature Center in Midland. The only birds that I was able to watch the day that I was out there. I was afraid that I wouldn't see any birds when I got out there and saw that the main building was under a remodel. We decided to go ahead and drive around back to the homestead farm, sugarhouse, and schoolhouse area. I look forward to when the bird viewing room is accessible again so I can see more of a variety. Also my favorite little walking path is not easily accessible right now either. Being able to walk along the trail again will be nice, also.

The Last Freeze

Hopefully this is one of the last icycles that we will see for quite a while around here. I am ready for warm weather to be here to stay for a long stretch of time.

Thawing Out

The Sugarhouse

The Sugarhouse is another favorite. I look forward to taking my boys back to watch them making maple syrup, not sure if it will be this year but definitely next year. This is such a great time. I have taken my two oldest nieces to experience this and they had a lot of fun especially my oldest niece, she was 4.5 years old at the time. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and allowed for the experience to be a truly personal one. They take the time to personally answer questions and explain things on a level that is appropriate for the age group they are talking with. I love this experience and have tried to go back as often as I can.
