Today's image is in honor of the cold weather that we have been given the last couple of days. Hopefully I will have some spring pictures soon. I have been looking for my images I know I have but can't seem to find. This image is one of my first images that I made when I thought hey maybe I am an artist. I never really thought of myself that way until around the time that I made this image.

This is my leaf. I love the detail that can be seen. If it were not so close you would only see the color and maybe a little of the detail. I love the velvet look that the leaf has to it. Yes this is a real leaf not a fake silk style one.

I love the beauty of fall and the reflection in the water is just one more piece to the puzzle that is nature. Beauty can be found anywhere. That is why I love photographing things out in nature. It is always changing and constantly handing out surprises. One day it can be glistening snow the next it could be tulips poking up through the ground or as in this case the reflection of fall leaves in the water.

Yet again another fall image. I have a few of these so be prepared. I think the colors of fall make it my favorite time of year. Although I enjoy the warmth of summer much more.

I know this image is from the fall as the birds were headed south. I like the monochrome look to the image. Everything a varying shade of blue. It has very little changes made to it. I really hate to do any touch-ups or changes to my photos. I will admit there was a weird looking circle in the clouds that I did clone stamp out so that the clouds flowed better but other than that I did not do much to the photo.

This image is very powerful. I love that the boat is tied up but is very obviously sitting in the sand. The tide has obviously gone out. I also like the looming storm in the background. When I started taking pictures here the storm was or at least it looked to be way off in the distance. Within about fifteen minutes it was this close to us. I love the strength of the blue in the sky.

I am in awe of butterflies. They have got to be one of my most favorite things. I love trying to get pictures of them flying free in nature, but sometimes as in the case of this picture they don't necessarily have to be a live butterfly. The flowers are real though. These all came from an arrangement from my gran-granny's funeral. I found the image to be very beautiful. I love the angle putting my emphasis to the butterfly and the flowers as sort of an afterthought to the picture. Also this butterfly will essentially last forever and the flowers will fade away with time.

I love that I was able to capture the crashing effect of the waves. Granted these are small compared to those on the ocean, but I have only been to ocean once in my life and that was in 1995. I was in Ocean City, NJ and was able to walk in the Atlantic. However, I still love this image. I even like how the tree line in the background just blends itself into the water not jumping out at you.

This is my last sunset image for a while; although, it won't be my last. I think sunsets and sunrises are my favorite things to photograph. I don't get as many shots of the sunrise as I do the sunset but I do like to shoot both. I am not a morning person so this would explain the whole sunrise sunset thing. I will still be posting my Petoskey images for a bit but only for a few more days and then I will move on to something else for a while.

Okay so this image was actually taken before Petoskey Sunset #1. But that doesn't matter. I love both images. This one is a favorite because the trees look like sort of like cardboard cutouts painted black and the colors of the sunset are just gorgeous. It was fun trying to find a spot to take this pics. There are not a lot of spots to pull off the road where we were. I guess in actuality we were somewhere between Harbor Springs and Cross Village. We were across the bay from Petoskey. The next few days will be of images that I took while we were on our first Petoskey vacation. I am sad to say I haven't developed the film from our second trip. Enjoy.

This is one of my favorite images. It incorporates two of my favorite things, sunsets and landscapes. I enjoy nature photography whether it be landscape taking in a whole scene or an up close image of a leaf. (You'll see this later).

I thought I would use today to explain my photo for my profile. I was taking pictures of the flowers that I had brought home from my Gran-granny's funeral, and I put this one into a make-shift vase and it appeared to be smiling at me. I fell in love with the photo. I didn't manipulate it or anything, I just simply placed it in the bottle and the smile just formed.
I hope it brings a smile to everyone's face.
I would like to use this blog to showcase some of my photography. My goal is to post at least one image everyday. I hope to use this as an opportunity to help make myself known as well as an outlet for my creativity. I guess right now it is more of an outlet for creativity.
